Residential Air Conditioning

Friday, May 25th, 2012

Summer is here and the temperature is begging to rise again, and we’re all finding ourselves using our central air conditioning more and more. Residential air conditioning is something that many of us take for granted, but it’s also something that we wrestle with because of the running costs. We’ve mentioned a couple times in the past a few different ways to help keep cool while keeping the monthly utility bills down, and we figured that today is a good time to revisit these.

Fans. Fans are amazing little devices that don’t require much energy to operate and play a huge role in keeping things cool. Air in motion is naturally cooler than still air, and fans, such as ceiling fans or standing fans, help circulate the cool air throughout the room.

Speaking of ceiling fans, did you know that you can change the direction of rotation to better suite the time of year? For instance, a ceiling fan rotating clockwise will push air down from the ceiling. This is great during the winter when warm air pools at the top, but not so convenient during the warmer summer months.  Reversing the direction will cause it to pull air up, dispursing the warm air and replacing it with the cooler air that sits lower. By simply switching the direction, you can see a massive improvement in your monthly bills.

Another great little tip is to close off vents to rooms that you aren’t using. This is especially useful for those of us who live in larger or more open homes. By closing the vents to unused rooms, you are effectively forcing the air through the vents into rooms that you are using, therefore reducing the number of rooms your central heating and air system is trying to cool.

Another great piece of advice is to invest in curtains, especially on the sunny side of your home. Sunlight coming in through windows heats up the air and whatever surface it lands on. By blocking the sunlight with curtains or blinds, you’re preventing the sun from heating the interior and helping keep the cool air in your home cool, which is what we’re all looking to do.

Insulation is also very important to keeping your central air conditioning system running at peak efficiency. Air ducts carry the air throughout your home, and when their lacking insulation, you can find that the cool air traveling through the ducts isn’t so cool when leaving the vents. Wrapping the air ducts with a good layer of insulation can help keep the cool air cool and the warm air warm.

Heating companies will tell you that keeping your AC properly maintenanced is important, and they’re right. Over time, components wear out and need cleaning or replacing. While there are many things you can do on your own to help boost reliability, there are things that only a trained professional can do. Residential air conditioning is something that’s important to all of us, and it’s something that we all want to keep running as well as possible, so be sure to keep up on your annual maintenance – your wallet will thank you.

Give us a call today to schedule a time for one of our highly trained and experienced technicians to come out and help keep your residential air conditioning system up to par. If you can’t remember the last time you’ve had your system maintenanced, than it’s time you did.

Another Year, Another Round of Awards

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

When you put quality service and customer appreciation above everything else, you have yourself the recipe for a successful business model. Doing what we can because we care has been our philosophy since our founding, and it’s been the key foundation to all of our policies and business practices, and it’s the reason why we’re winning awards left and right.

This year we’ve been presented with a few awards. First, there’s the Lennox Partner of the Year award. Each year, Lennox Industries recognizes an elite group of Lennox heating and air conditioning dealers that not just meet, but exceed the highest standards. The dealers that are fortunate enough to receive this particular honor from Lennox Industries find themselves in an exclusive group with only five Lennox dealers in the nation. These dealers have earned this position through demonstrating outstanding accomplishments in customer service and sales leadership.

Those that find themselves in this elite group can take pride in knowledge that they ensure every customer’s experience is the best that it possibly can be. It is this level of customer service, combined with an equally impressive level of sales that has help make us a first choice when it comes to servicing an existing system or purchasing a new HVAC install.

While we’re deeply honored that we have been selected as one of the elite Lennox dealers, but that’s not the end of the story for this year’s round of awards. This year we were honored with the AC Pro Presidents Circle Award, an award that his handed out to a hand-picked selected 12 heating and cooling companies in California and Nevada.

This award means a lot to us, since it shows that we are seen as one of the best companies around for our heating and air conditioning services, and that we have caught the attention of some of the highest members of the Lennox organization.

And as a final layer of frosting on our cake of awesomeness, we were presented with a third award this year – the Circle of Excellence Award. The Circle of Excellent Award is presented to a select few heating and air conditioning companies throughout the country. A mere 40 dealers across the country meet a level of leadership excellence and customer service that routinely exceeds expectations that Lennox feels is worthy of this award.

We’re deeply honored to have received these four awards this year. It goes to show that we’re on the right track when we put our customers first, and that we need to continue to do so. We go above and beyond what we’re expected to do because we care about our customers, and it’s this approach that has made us the leading name that we are today. It is also this approach that we’re going to continue to focus on, so that us, and our customers, can see continued success as the years go on.

Thank you to all of our customers who made winning these awards possible. We couldn’t have done it without you.
